Embracing Father’s Love
Written last March 17, 2013.
FATHER (GOD):
I have chosen you. (1 Thessalonians 1:4)
I knew how you would respond to Me
And so I planned for you to be changed,
To have My Son’s likeness. (Romans 8:29)
I chose you to be My child (1 Thessalonians 1:4)
And you turned to Me, just as I had decided beforehand; (Acts 4:28)
From before the beginning of time
I chose you to be without blame before Me. (Ephesians 1:4)
I work all things to happen for the good of My children, (Romans 8:28)
And I have chosen you as My very child. (Ephesians 1:11)
This is My secret wisdom, the hidden wisdom I destined for your glory. (1 Corinthians 2:7)
For I have called you
And you are justified in My sight. (Romans 8:30)
DAUGHTER (me):
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now…”
(1 John 3:1-2 ESV)
Where does one go to receive love… unconditional, fully accepting, never-ending, totally encompassing love? What must one do to earn that kind of love?
YOUR promises reinforce the reality that love – true, full, unconditional love – is a gift that cannot and will not be earned. I just can't comprehend Your daily love and comfort You've bestowed upon me each time. Honestly, I'm very much forever grateful for this kind of closeness and intimacy of this FATHER and daughter relationship that I'm now experiencing. Talking to You as if You're really in front of me keeps me feeling that I'm secured. Your immediate answers of my prayers and even sweet requests showed how special I am as your daughter. Thank YOU Father for embracing me every time I feel weak and not secured. In YOU, I am totally safe. I'm relieved and blessed for YOU listen with some of my complaints or even those things that I don't understand. Your instant rebukes make me then realized how unworthy I am without You. Of course, You even noticed that I'm a bit emotional these days, crying and crying to You most of the time (more than before). But I just don't know exactly why. What I'm sure is that I wanna give back the love that You have given to me (still I know, Your love is greater than me).
It's just that I'm not denying my strengths, but openly honest with all my weaknesses. I have my failures left and right, but one thing I'm certain with: I'm not a failure in terms of making myself being intimate with You! You know already from the start how big my love for You that I'm willing to obey and sacrifice for Your name's sake. It's You who placed everything in me: passion, compassion, humility, vision, confidence, courage, integrity, loyalty, and conviction. So I know my purpose, I am all for YOU...
Now, You call me to a life of courage, to take a stand, to do what is right regardless of the cost at this pivotal moment. You're now challenging me to not remain a little daughter, but to be a big daughter who will help You in Your earthly mission. Today, I shall come forth as gold, to draw line in the sand and to make a legacy before I'll die. Though definitely, I won't deny the trials, hardships, and persecutions that may come my way. As always, one thing I believe, there's faith beyond them. I'm now Your big daughter who's always be dependent on my Father's unconditional love.
Yes, You are my everything. I am the clay and You are my Potter. I am the disciple and You are my discipler. I am the sheep and You are my shepherd. I am the servant and You are my LORD. I am the evangelist and You are the provider. I am Your daughter and You are my Father. These mean I am totally nothing without YOU!!!
