The Warmth of God’s Embrace in Winter

Those gloomy days, the weiry soul,

Those brighter days, the brighter whole.

The new year’s winter wind drives my goals,

Have I been motivated to be purposeful?

The cold winter breeze awakens my rest,

In the middle of the deep sound sleep.

Then feel the warmth of God’s embrace best,

To be at rest and trust in Him deep.

Three months long of winter feels,

The cold breeze, the howling wind.

All I desire is that He alone fills,

To strengthen this faint heart from within.

Indeed Christ is our Shelter and Shield,

Who washes our sins, as white as snow.

In His hands, the rest of this year we yield,

And have a loving heart like the snowy glow.
